a mentality that i see a lot at my school is to take classes "for the grade." won't get an A in the class? drop it. hard teacher? drop it. optional challenge class? drop it. just today i heard some people talking about how stupid calculus 3 was. not only was the class not weighted, but it was also a very hard class! how stupid of people to take that class.

this mentality sucks, and it bleeds into the way everyone acts around campus, everyone wants to know everyone else's grade. i've been asked for my grade on many assessments multiple times, and every single time i tell them i haven't checked my grades in weeks, if not months and they look at me like i'm living in another dimension. everyone is doing everything for the grade, and learning is secondary.
