a while ago, a kid i knew cheated on a math test. while in the moment it was funny that he got caught and how much of an idiot he was for cheating, after thinking about his motivations for a while i realized it was probably us that pressured him into cheating.

he was not the most bright of students, and he would always get mediocre scores on his math tests, but he was surrounded by people who would constantly get As on their tests without trying. as a result, it is likely that due to the pressure to score well from peers, he decided to cheat on one of the tests.

i'm not saying he should of cheated on his tests, but it's intresting to think that he cheated because the people around him seemed like they put no effort and got good grades while he was left in the dust.
